DETROIT, Nov. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) announced today that online media registration is now open for Press Preview for the upcoming 2016 auto show, Jan. 11-12 at Cobo Center in Detroit.
"The 2016 NAIAS is shaping-up to be one of the biggest years we've experienced in quite some time with exciting new partnerships focused on technology, design and social media," said Paul Sabatini, 2016 NAIAS Chairman. "Under our 2016 theme, 'All Roads Lead to Detroit,' we'll be kicking-off NAIAS with a cross-country drive in three classic cars in partnership with LeMay Museum that will arrive in Detroit a few days prior to Press Preview."
New for 2016 NAIAS Credentialed Media
NAIAS has partnered with IBM, a global leader in innovation and technology, to create an industry-first Data Asset Management portal that will house content from our OEM, supplier and sponsor partners. Credentialed media members will be able to access content ranging from press releases to graphics to video all in one portal, alleviating the need for journalists to have to find this content on these companies' respective websites or attend every press conference. In addition to all the content in our portal, there will be a real-time social media and news aggregator, powered by Critical Mention. Users will be able to track global trends and create unique reports to assist in their reporting and monitoring. In order to gain access to this portal and receive a 2016 NAIAS media credential, an individual email address is required for each unique credential submission. Please note, media credentials will not be approved unless there is a unique email associated with each individual credential request.
Credentials by Mail
Journalists are encouraged to register online at naias.com and complete the form on the Press page. To receive credentials by mail, journalists must apply during the early registration period that ends Dec. 18, 2015. After Dec. 18, journalists may still register online, but will need to collect their credentials in person at Cobo Center on or after Jan. 4, 2016. The registration deadline for all media applications is Dec. 31, 2015; no applications will be accepted after this date.
Media credentials are required for entry to NAIAS 2016 and provided to qualified journalists only. To qualify, applicants must be working in print, broadcast or social-based/website media. All persons entering the show floor with credentials during Press Preview will be required to present additional identification (current driver's license or passport) for validation. NAIAS credentials are not transferable.
The Gallery
NAIAS media credentials will also provide access to a special media preview of The Gallery, an exclusive event featuring a magnificent display of luxury and performance vehicles at MGM Grand Detroit on Sunday, Jan. 10, from 9-11 a.m. Now in its ninth year, The Gallery will feature an estimated $7 million worth of exotic supercars and luxury vehicles, many of which will not be shown at NAIAS due to their exclusivity.
